Yoshio Fukumori

I am an Senior Architect at MAD Architects. My work focuses on the integration of digital tools and computational processes to improve architectural design, enabling the exploration of complex non-linear geometrical manipulation via coding, evolutionary solvers, robotic programming, and digital fabrication.

Prior to joining MAD Architects, I was a Senior Computational Designer at WeWork. I developed custom tools and workflows for the design team, aiding in the management of project metrics, urban analysis, and building facade explorations.

Earlier in my career, in association with Michel Rojkind, we had also co-founded RKFK, a design and research studio with a focus on exploring and enhancing the relationship between digital tools and handicraft production.

Outside of my professional work, I was a professor of the Creative Code for Design graduate program at Universidad Centro, and I have lectured and taught at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Universidad Iberoamericana, and CEDIM School of Design. My participation in academia had enabled me to share and expand my knowledge in numerous topics of interest, which has been tremendously valuable to my professional career to date.
